Shopping in Alexandria
The best shopping in the area is on King Street in Old Town, although there are a few interesting little shops up and down Washington Street.
The only mall in Alexandria is Landmark Mall, 5801 Duke Street, +1 703 354-8405, on the west side of town by Interstate 395. Mall is anchored by Sears, Macy's, and Lourde and Taylor. Other nearby malls include Springfield, Pentagon City, and the expensive, but impressive Tysons I & II on the west side of D.C.
Another large shopping area in Alexandria is the newer Potomac Yard Center (3671 Jefferson Davis Highway; an open-air "power center" that includes many "big box" stores on US Route 1 just south of Reagan National Airport. Among the major chains with stores here are Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Old Navy, Staples, Target, and The Sports Authority. Potomac Yard also has a large Regal Cinemas multiplex.
